
Nations Season 2 was a large Minecraft social experiment built to simulate civilisation under pressure. 300 players were split across seven separate islands (“Atlas”), and each nation was given unique perks and disadvantages. With leaders elected by each island and a strict one-life rule, the event was designed to answer a simple question: will civilisation form, or will they all plunge into war? The resulting video has now surpassed 3.5 million views.
I worked on the system that brought jjkay03’s vision to life, building a plugin to apply team-based attributes and modifiers. Before and during the event, I also worked alongside system administrators, content creators, and builders, helping optimise server performance and advising on mitigations during DDoS attacks.
